VOLUNTEERS/FOSTERS NEEDED - We always need volunteers and foster homes. If you can help, please email us at CharmedAgain0800@verizon.net. We could also use help from someone with grant writing experience.
DONATIONS APPRECIATED - We can use almost anything, but the following donations would be particularly appreciated: litter (any type), cat food (dry & canned), coupons for cat food, pet carriers/crates/cages, litter scoopers, air fresheners, office supplies, medical supplies, printing services and phone cards.
How We Came To Be - We are a small group of people who share a common interest in saving the lives of unwanted animals, mainly cats at this time. However, we may occasionally have a dog available for adoption as a courtesy to another group. In this case you will need to contact them for adoption information. Their contact information will be posted in the dog's bio. We would also be happy to refer you to a dog rescue group if you are looking to adopt or need to find a home for a dog.
We all have previous experience in rescue groups and have fostered numerous animals. Because we all have similar thoughts and philosophies about rescuing, we have joined together to form Paws and Whiskers Rescue - New Jersey, a rescue group based on our similar goals and ideas.
Our Adoption Priorities - We as a group feel that each cat has their own unique personality, as do people. So when we look for a perspective home for these cats, the needs of each cat is our first priority. Each cat has different likes and dislikes, so with that in mind we try very hard to match the home and family with that particular cat. These cats have already had enough trauma in their lives, so by doing this we hope to insure that it will be a forever home.
Adoption Procedures & Application Information - Here is our word doc Our Cat Adoption Application, Dog Adoption Application. We must have a written copy of this on file. Please save it to your computer and fill it out. Once completed send it in an email to CharmedAgain0800@verizon.net or you may fill out our Electronic Online Application . We will contact you as quickly as possible. Please keep in mind we all have full time jobs, so this may take up to a week to process.
Adoption Fees - Our adoption fee is $100.00 and up, or if you adopt two the adoption fee is $190.00. All of our adoptees are current on vaccines, FeLV/FIV tested and if old enough, spay or neutered. The adoption fee goes back into the rescue so we can save more lives.
Transition Into New Homes - We also like to bring our cats to their new homes. We do this for the cats. We have found from past experience this helps make the transition a little easier on the cat.
